Yes. General Admission — GA, the free pass — is one 30-minute lesson a day, every day, at no cost, no card required to start. Every theme is free too. The paid Backstage Pass adds more on top, but the daily lesson is free forever.

Tell Coach Milo what you want to learn — a riff, a solo, a whole song — and My Guitar Day organizes the session around it, at your level and your goals. During the lesson, ask Milo about an exercise or technique and he answers from what is on your page. The structure stays the same (warm-up → technique → song → theory) so it becomes a routine. Come back whenever you're ready; daily practice builds the habit fastest.

Both ends, and you're the one who says which. Level — beginner, intermediate, advanced — is a control right on the ask box, and it sets how hard everything comes out. Never held a guitar? The warm-up is one string at a time, the song arrives in pieces small enough to fret, and nothing assumes you can already read a chord chart. Played for years and stopped? Say what you used to play and the lesson starts from there, not from square one. It isn't a one-time answer either: mark a lesson too easy or too hard and the next one moves.

My Guitar Day is built by Dave Keller, a former guitar teacher and a product designer who has spent 15 years at startups. You can see his other work at kidastro.com. The app organizes existing lessons and Dave's finger-exercise library with the same half-hour practice structure he used with students: warm-up, technique, a song you picked, and one idea of theory. Coach Milo is AI; the teachers and creators stay the source.

Yes — each day's lesson is composed by AI from our original exercise library, vetted video lessons, and your profile. It can occasionally miss; your feedback teaches it. Embedded videos belong to their creators — we link and embed, we never copy tab or lyrics.

No. Lessons lean on tab, video walkthroughs, and plain-language explanations, so you can follow along whether or not you read standard notation. The little bit of theory in each lesson is meant to make things click, not to send you back to school.

Any guitar. Acoustic or electric, hand-me-down or brand new — no interface, no pedals, no printer. A metronome helps, and there's one built into the app.

The Backstage Pass is the paid tier — regularly $10/month or $100/year, with early access at $8/month or $60/year — for players who want more than one lesson a day and more control over what they practice. The big difference is that Milo learns across lessons: after a run, he reviews what you played and updates the plan behind the next ones. It also adds:

Cancel the Backstage Pass any time from your account settings — no hoops, no phone call.
