Effective date: to be set at public launch[date]. These terms are an agreement between you and [entity name] ("My Guitar Day", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using myguitarday.com, you agree to them.
1. What the service is
My Guitar Day gives you a daily guitar lesson shaped to your level, taste, and goals. The General Admission pass (GA) includes one lesson a day, free, with a basic profile. The Backstage Pass is a paid subscription that adds unlimited lessons, a coach that adapts to what you play, and control over your lesson's structure and focus.
Lessons are AI-generated: composed by software around our original exercise library, embedded video lessons, and your profile. See section 5.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google. Keep your account to yourself — it's one account per person, and you're responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 13 to use My Guitar Day. If we reasonably believe an account is abusing the service (section 7), we can suspend or close it.
3. Subscriptions and billing
(Takes effect when paid subscriptions launch.)
The Backstage Pass is billed through Stripe, monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout. Founding-player pricing stays yours for as long as your subscription stays active. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
Cancel anytime. Cancel in your account settings — no hoops. You keep Backstage access through the end of the period you've paid for, then drop to General Admission. Your progress and history stay; nothing you've learned goes away.
4. Refunds
Plainly:
- First purchase: if the Backstage Pass isn't for you, tell us within 14 days of your first charge and we'll refund it in full.
- Yearly renewals: refundable in full within 14 days of the renewal charge.
- Monthly renewals: not refunded once billed — cancelling stops the next charge.
Ask through the contact page; refunds go back to the original payment method. We may make exceptions when something on our end went wrong — if the service was broken for you, say so.
5. AI-generated lessons — what to expect
Lessons are generated by AI and can be imperfect: an exercise might be mislabeled, a suggestion might not fit, a description might be wrong. Use your judgment. Lessons are practice guidance, not professional, medical, or physical-therapy advice. Playing guitar is a physical activity — warm up, play within your limits, and stop if something hurts.
If the lesson generator is unavailable, we may serve a simpler fallback lesson. One lesson a day on General Admission means one generated lesson — revisiting past lessons doesn't count against it.
6. Content and ownership
Ours. The app, the exercise library, and lesson compositions are ours (or licensed to us). You get a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use them while you have an account. Don't republish or resell them.
Creators'. Embedded videos belong to their creators and play through YouTube's official player under YouTube's terms. Links to sites like Ultimate Guitar take you to their content on their terms. We deliberately do not host copyrighted tab or lyrics.
Yours. Your asks, profile, and feedback are yours. You give us permission to process them to run the service — build your lessons, remember your progress. How we handle them is in the Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
Don't: share or resell access; scrape or bulk-download content; hammer the lesson generator with automation; probe or disrupt the service; use the service to violate someone else's rights, including creators'. We can suspend accounts that do.
8. Ending things
You can delete your account whenever you like (the Privacy Policy explains data deletion). We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, and we'll refund any prepaid, undelivered period if we terminate you without cause — or if we ever shut the service down.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows: we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we'll give notice (email or in-app) before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
11. Governing law
Illinois law governs these terms; disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
